The Lake Deluxe includes a lot of area variation, with everything from cave systems to outdoor jungle combat. The multiplayer map is not big, but the variation definitely helps in keeping an interest. Although the multiplayer map does not include a lot of vegetation, it impresses by the little graphical details; such as small signs with web site links.

As the included "read me" file also states, the multiplayer map has been beta tested very carefully, and therefore there are not many bugs to spot.
The Lake Deluxe features an environment that could be used for a sniper advantage. A good tactic could be to let one person snipe, whilst the others split up on the multiplayer map, and start to advance the enemy.

Together with good frame rates and a good playability, this multiplayer map is highly recommended.
The Lake Deluxe can be played with both Vietcong and Vietcong Fist Alpha.

The CanTho multiplayer map only includes one game type being "capture the flag (CTF)".
The variation in this multiplayer map is big. You can find secret paths (as an example you can even go through a cave), get in the jungle and fight, get indoors, and even by water to the enemy. The multiplayer map is generally very large and consists of a lot of cover and a decent amount of vegetation.

CanTho is also impressive by the frame rates which seem to be very stable. Unfortunately the multiplayer maps' textures are at a low graphical level.
CanTho is playable with both Vietcong and Vietcong Fist Alpha, and has even been voted as the multiplayer map of the week at the Vietcong Maps web site.

The StoneDDRjungle (beta) supports all game types except the "cooperation (COOP)" and "last man standing (LMS)".
The jungle that is created in this multiplayer map is filled with vegetation and birds hidden in the trees and bushes together with a few hideouts. You even come across a small camp where chickens are walking near a lit up fire.

The great thing about this multiplayer map is that you can take up to multiple paths up to your enemies' base and flag. The jungle design is made in a way that you will most likely feel lost until you have at least played it for a few hours.

The sounds also impress; you hear birds and far combat everywhere on the multiplayer map and you can even hear the wind swirl in your face.
Although the multiplayer map is still in the beta phase, there are not many bugs to spot; there are a few objects without any collisions, but generally it is very playable.

Together with a good frame rate and support of both Vietcong and Vietcong Fist Alpha, the StoneDDRjungle (beta) is highly recommended to be tried.

As with the CanTho multiplayer map (which is also created by Gianko Monzilla) the Base 68 multiplayer map only includes one game type being "capture the flag (CTF)". The jungle is filled with vegetation and a lot of cover and different paths.

There are a couple of bridges that you can come across, so that you will not fall down in the deep water that has been placed throughout the multiplayer map. You can even enter a small cave and get out in another part of the jungle as a shortcut.

Unfortunately, the Base 68 multiplayer map has a few stuck-points as well as exploit-points. Multiply this with an at times rather bad frame rate and low resolution textures the general feel of the multiplayer map will be less impressive.

With a great jungle and support for both Vietcong and Vietcong Fist Alpha the Base 68 multiplayer map is still recommended to try out.

The Sunrise multiplayer map has a nice setup program included for easy installation.
The multiplayer map includes the "deathmatch (DM)", "team deathmatch (TDM)" and "capture the flag (CTF)" game types.

The jungle is small, and does not include a lot of vegetation, but the feel and light settings are good. There are small Viet Cong and American camps that have buildings that you can enter. The spawn points for each team have been well placed and make a good balance.

The cliffs in the multiplayer map are designed in a way so that snipers can get an advantage; this can both be a bad and a good thing. For example it can be a great tactic, but also get frustrating if your team is losing the match while the other team is covering your camp with snipers.

The graphics are very good and the whole multiplayer map is run with a good frame rate. There are also scripted events like birds flying away and a small camp fire.

The multiplayer map is supported by both Vietcong and Vietcong Fist Alpha, and is recommended to be tried out if you want a quick fight with your friends.

EPIDEMIE Town Author: EP!DEM!E
Web site: www.epidemie.ch
Game types: ATG, DM, TDM, TT, CTF
Maximum players: 64

Playability:

Frame rate:

Graphics:

MP structure:

The EPIDEMIE Town user-made multiplayer map is meant to be played with 64 players in the server.
Because of the creative environment, a lot of close combat will take place during the match rounds. There are a lot of ruined buildings as well as tree stumps and old tanks. All of these objects create the great atmosphere that the multiplayer map has.

Even though the multiplayer map is quite large, your will often be playing with good frame rates. There are some places of the multiplayer map which can bring the frame rate a bit down, but for the most of the time it is very playable.

The ruined buildings line up for some nice sniper hideouts, which will certainly make it a bit tougher to capture the team flags. Each flag is placed with a lot of cover and buildings around it, so you will notice that you need to use good tactics and a lot of team play to win a round. This is also one of the many good parts of the multiplayer map.

A lot of small details are also featured. You will notice small things as rats running around the multiplayer map, propaganda posters and also wire lines placed throughout the multiplayer map.

A small graveyard with pictures of each EP!DEM!E clan member has also been placed in the multiplayer map, which also gives you some degree of enjoyment to play the multiplayer map.

The graphical details are also nice with good, but unfortunately in some places, corrupted textures. Also give to the fact that there have not been used a lot of sounds, which is a shame as it would give up to some of the atmosphere.

The EPIDEMIE Town multiplayer map is compatible with both Vietcong and Vietcong Fist Alpha and is highly recommended to try out.

The Old Church Author: =SFX=
Web site: www.sfx-vc-clan.net
Game types: CTF, COOP
Maximum players: 48

Playability:

Frame rate:

Graphics:

MP structure:

The Old Church multiplayer map is made with a lot of details. You can enter small caves with American plans on how to attack the Viet Cong, a small, but very nice, tunnel system and of course a church that allows you to go from upstairs to a small basement level. And as the EPIDEMIE Town multiplayer map, you will also notice rats running around the terrain occasionally.

The multiplayer map is quite large and will let you take a lot of cover behind the trees that are spread throughout the multiplayer map. Unfortunately there has not been placed a lot of vegetation and objects, which you can take cover behind. The most cover is placed in the big locations, as with the US camp and the church where you will also find small sniper hideouts.

The multiplayer map also includes the newly publicly released "cooperation (COOP)" game type and even though a lot of AI controlled characters have been placed, the frame rate for this multiplayer map is very good. For the most part you will be looking for the muzzle flashes in the deep fog seeing that the Viet Cong has been placed in good locations where they are well hidden and take cover. All in all it is very challenging to win even one round in this game type.

You will be playing a quite bug-free multiplayer map seeing that the newest version has been released with quite a lot of bug fixes. Another thing that is worth mentioning is that the textures unfortunately are at a low resolution.

The multiplayer map is compatible with both Vietcong and Vietcong Fist Alpha and is recommended to be tried out if you like dark ambiences with opponents that are hard to spot.

Dam Nha Phu Author: Kjeldorius
Web site: Not available
Game types: CTF
Maximum players: 12

Playability:

Frame rate:

Graphics:

MP structure:

The Dam Nha Phu user-made multiplayer map features immersive graphics with decent frame rates and a good pinch of gameplay balancing.

This multiplayer map is impressive on almost all aspects. The gameplay is fast and very tactical. You will need a very strong and tactical team to capture the opponent's flag. Whilst trying to win the rounds, you will have the possibility to take cover behind the vegetation (that has been placed throughout the entire multiplayer map) and objects, which you can use for the same purpose.

People who like to play the Halong Port multiplayer map, which has been available since the first release of Vietcong, will also be able to see that the Dam Nha Phu multiplayer map successfully recreates the tense and fast phased action, which is to be seen at the Halong Port multiplayer map.

Seeing as this multiplayer map has only been released as a beta version, you will be able to spot a few bugs and unfortunately also some serious balancing problems. It seems like the Vietcong team has the biggest advantage, as they can simply look down at the US Army respawn area and shoot the opposing players' one by one. Another thing that destroys the atmosphere is the fact that no sound effects have been added to the multiplayer map, and no buildings, which are present, have been decorated with nice environmental objects.

The attention to detail, which has been made for this multiplayer map is amazing. Although the size of Dam Nha Phu is not large, you will still get in the mood to explore more of the jungle.

You might want to try this multiplayer map with your friends and clan members, even though there are still some bugs and balancing problems.

ThanhHoa Author: fRagiLeMOD
Web site: www.vc-map.net
Game types: CTF, ATG, DM, TDM, COOP
Maximum players: 24

Playability:

Frame rate:

Graphics:

MP structure:

As seen in previous multiplayer map releases by fRagiLeMOD, the ThanhHoa multiplayer map has a lot of area variation as well as cover and vegetation. You will be able to sneak past the enemy in the lush jungle, and experience the horrifying and claustrophobic tunnels, which have been created by the Viet Cong.

One of the great parts of this multiplayer map is that you need to have a lot of different classes for your team members to successfully complete the game types. This enables a lot of tactical possibilities throughout each of the rounds.

While the multiplayer map features fairly fun "capture the flag (CTF)" and "assault team game (ATG)" game types, the "cooperation (COOP)" game type is the most challenging and tense.
When sneaking past the enemy forces, you will often see yourself get passed the first group of opponents and walk right into another group. This means that you will be forced to take cover as much as possible to survive.
It is quite hard spotting the enemy, as there are only a few hiding places. This initially means that you will have to keep your eyes open not to get killed in action.

Another great aspect of this multiplayer map is the fact that you will experience some dangerous situations inside the tunnel systems, which a lot of other multiplayer maps have failed to show.

While playing the "cooperation (COOP)" game type, you will also be able to find Steve R. Hawkins (the lead character of the original Vietcong game) as a fellow companion of the Vietcong forces.

The atmosphere is generally excellent, although small visual facts, such as the buildings featuring almost no embellishment, makes the multiplayer map suffer a bit.

An additional bad side of the ThanhHoa multiplayer map is that the flags in the "capture the flag (CTF)" game type have been placed in bad locations, which means that you will not be rushed to choose between the many different paths that are to be seen in this multiplayer map. You will basically run from one end of the tunnel to the other scoring points for your team. The creator of this multiplayer map has stated that he will fix such aspects as well as a few bug corrections in upcoming releases of the ThanhHoa multiplayer map.

This multiplayer map is highly recommended to "cooperation (COOP)" fans of the Vietcong game. Please note that the "assault team game (ATG)" game type is not fully functional and may cause the game to crash.

RageInVietnam Author: Kjeldorius
Web site: www.basesgc.fr.st
Game types: ATG, DM, TDM, RW, CTF, COOP
Maximum players: 16

Playability:

Frame rate:

MP structure:

RageinVietnam takes place in a deep jungle, although the terrain used for this multiplayer map has been taken from an original Vietcong single player map (which causes some superior bugs to be encountered). The graphical details are exceptional, however, due to a bad optimisation of the terrain, the multiplayer map requires very high system specifications to be played with optimal frame rate performance.

Even though the terrain has been taken from an original concept made by PTERODON, the creator of this multiplayer map manages to create a whole new experience by adding a lot of cover, vegetation and even self-created objects (like the ruins that are to be seen in a small village).
Because of the terrain that has been taken from the single player campaign of Vietcong, some minor problems will occur during play. Some scripts have not been replaced, and will activate single player motions which are not meant for the multiplayer mode. You will be able to climb over walls, fences and objects, but this is considered to be a bug, as it is not completely functional in the given game mode.

While the graphics are excellent, the gameplay for this multiplayer map has not been taken into account. The flags in the "capture the flag (CTF)" game type have been placed in random terrain parts where they will suit best. This is quite a disappointment, as it could have turned out to be a rather good fight against your friends.

Despite the lack of performance and optimisation in this multiplayer map, the fact is that there is a lot of cover to get behind. This is quite an important factor in creating multiplayer maps, which Kjeldorius (the creator) has been thinking of. The intense jungle also gives you the feeling that an enemy can lay behind every corner or bush.

The "cooperation (COOP)" game type has also been implemented for this multiplayer map, but due to the strict system specifications, the frame rates get even worse when playing against the artificially controlled enemies.

Kjeldorius has since the release of this multiplayer map corrected his mistakes in one of his first attempts of creating a multiplayer map. His skills have shown to be much greater in his newer creation named Dam Nha Phu.

It is recommended to read the detailed "read me" file before playing this multiplayer map, as it also includes a small story to consider while playing.

Nam is a fairly large multiplayer map with a lot of variation in the environments. Although the main environment is a jungle, you will also encounter small waterfalls, swamps, caves and cliff areas. The multiplayer map has been optimised in a way so that both visuals and good frame rates combine each other.

The sounds are also quite good. In each area of the multiplayer map, you will be able to hear trees and bushes sway in the wind. You will also come across a few scripted events like, in a lot of other multiplayer maps, birds that are flying around.

While playing, you will possibly encounter a few stuck points; otherwise the multiplayer map is almost bug-free. The optimisation is excellent, and each gameplay element has been carefully thought of. The flags in the "capture the flag (CTF)" game type have been placed in open spaces, which will presumably force players to either sneak up and steal the flags, or use team play to cover each other.

When travelling throughout the jungle, you will easily get lost. Therefore it is wise to follow your team mates and check up on your tactical map for further notes about the area.

The water was probably only added for visual reasons. It can get quite uninteresting and even irritating to travel by water, as you will most likely end up in an unknown area that has nothing to do with your game type objective.
You will also encounter a well hidden cave, which is highly detailed. This is one of the greater aspects of the Nam multiplayer map. A lot of artefacts are well hidden.

The multiplayer map itself is nicely balanced in terms of teams, which will evolve to intense fire fights between both teams.

The "cooperation (COOP)" game type has also been implemented and is quite fun to play. You will see well known faces from the Special Forces camp and fighting against your team as opponents. The enemy AI (artificial intelligence) has been well placed as the approximately 50 enemies will surprise you in their hiding places, while wandering around with your team searching for troops.

It is recommended to read the "read me" file for optimal experience with this multiplayer map.

DDRBorderCreek2 Author: homer99

Maximum players: 24

The first thing to notice about the DDRBorderCreek2 multiplayer map is the great level of detail and the highly comprehensive textures. This multiplayer map has mainly been created to redefine a jungle feeling, which has certainly succeeded for the creator of the multiplayer map, while a creek without water has also made it into the environment.
While the jungle part of the DDRBorderCreek2 multiplayer map is quite interesting, the empty creek is quite dull to walk in and has almost no cover.

The flags that have been placed in the "capture the flag (CTF)" game type have been taken into account, as you will have a lot of problems in succeeding to capture one of them. You will need a lot of teamwork to score one point, as both flags are placed in open areas with harsh surroundings.
The US Army flag has been placed between a machinegun nest and a lot of surrounding cover, while the Viet Cong flag has been placed in between some old ruins, which is one of a few examples of how hard it can be to detain a flag.

The sounds in this multiplayer map are also impressive. In given accordance to the atmosphere, you will hear the proper sounds of every environment that you will come in cross of.

Although we did not encounter a lot of bugs during the play, we did see a few collision bugs, which means that you will sometimes see yourself taking cover without any advantage.

The second game type namely being "assault team game (ATG)" will lead you into a mission in which you will have to destroy or prevent a destruction of an American beer truck. This adds to the atmosphere, as you will be lead into a small story in the multiplayer map.

A few more game types would have come in handy, seeing as the DDRBorderCreek2 multiplayer map only includes two game types. An implementation of these would certainly add into the fun factor, which the multiplayer map already has.

Canyon Author: Peit!

Maximum players: 50

Playability:

MP structure:

A member of the PTERODON Modding Team created this multiplayer map, although not representing the quality of the forthcoming modifications from the mentioned team.

The level design of the "Canyon" multiplayer map is not directly inspired by the levels created by PTERODON, even though, at its first glance, it might look like that. The textures are of remarkably high quality, which is a necessity in professional level designing, and a subject matter that many multiplayer map creators do not master. On a side note, the general terrain design may seem somewhat boxed.

The considerations given into the gameplay are excellent. Even though the use of foliage and cover is not immense, the locations where such lie secures well organised usage from both artificial and human players. This is accompanied by nicely detailed shortcuts in form of various tunnels that each have their own stylistic approaches.

The "cooperative (COOP)" game type guarantees great entertainment for each player. The AI cooperates, takes cover, and makes use of fearsome frontal assaults. A fine occasion for this multiplayer map is that the dozens of swarming enemies initially emerge after the first few fired shots. Therefore, what may seem as a "single contact" will expand to something much greater later on. This also represents the key to success, which is movement.
Even though it is possible to complete the multiplayer map's "cooperative (COOP)" game type by hand, it is strongly recommended to be played in a squad based conduct.

Looking apart from all of the diminutive details that create the ambience, the sounds placed in the "Canyon" multiplayer map create even greater atmosphere. Additionally, the multiplayer map optimisations certify that the frame rate stays stable throughout the entire game session.

"FRagiLeMOD" is back with his new multiplayer map named "NamMoi". This multiplayer map is set along a dense jungle with well-hidden artificially controlled enemies and immense foliage and cover. Due to the mentioned scenery and the thick fog, the AI may surprise the player in one's journey throughout the jungle.

The level design has been professionally produced, although it may seem a bit perplexing at the premature playing stages. However, going along with the somewhat confusing structure, the textures create great atmospheric events, and are set with extreme quality of detail. Additionally, the sounds help disguising the enemies together with the previously mentioned opaque surroundings. Therefore, the "cooperative (COOP)" game type may be particularly hard to complete if it is done by oneself. This also exemplifies the thoughts of the creator, which subliminally recommend players in making use of squad tactics (which is a great addition for the "cooperative (COOP)" game type supporters).

The level design appears linear in its lengthy routes, and with only a few escape directions in form of cave entrances, it may be uninteresting to play after a short matter of time. However, given the fact that the multiplayer map was publicly beta tested for numerous days before the release of the final version, the optimisation of the frame rates, and above all the general team balance optimisations that were made, strongly paid off.

Each item, including the foliage and the diverse scenery objects, has been set in strategically and helpful localities, which also means that the cover produced for this multiplayer map is adequate. The foliage may furthermore help you locate new positions of the multiplayer map, which may be well rewarding in terms of finding a number of sniping locations and other team strategic positions (as seen in previous multiplayer maps created by the author).

Overall, the visuals are extraordinarily impressive, and may hardly be compared to any of the formerly existing user-made multiplayer maps that are to be found on the Internet. The gameplay will secure hours, if not weeks, of entertainment, and therefore we strongly suggest the "NamMoi" multiplayer map to be played.

This multiplayer map is no longer available at the Vietcong Maps web site.
