PTERODON Match Report

We recently got a chance to play a match against the Strike Force =SFX= clan in their upcoming multiplayer map named "Devils Bridge".

We played the match with six PTERODON employees against six =SFX= clan members, starting with the "capture the flag (CTF)" game type. Seeing as the =SFX= clan has created the multiplayer map, which is still at the beta stage, we had to plan a strategy to give the =SFX= clan resistance.
Two snipers (one from each team) were placed throughout the multiplayer map, while the rest of the players started attacking each other. There were many chances for capturing the flag, but it seemed like all flags were returned just before reaching a point.

The fighting took place all over the multiplayer map, and some times it was even possible to sneak up on the enemies. Most of the time, both the =SFX= clan and ourselves pared up in groups, so that we could all attack with a lot of opposition, and eventually the "capture the flag (CTF)" round ended with a PTERODON victory being 3-2. Seeing as we had played that game type for approximately an hour, it really showed how hard it is to capture the opponent's flag in the "Devils Bridge" multiplayer map.

The next, and last, game type that we played was the "real war (RW)" game type. At first, this showed to be a lot quicker and less stealthy, as we were forced to run and capture all of the flags at once, but soon everyone realized that it was almost impossible to win a round if everybody just ran for the flags. Therefore, we (PTERODON) set up a small group to make a small ambush on the =SFX= clan team, whilst around two other players from our team ran to the Viet Cong base (we were playing as the US army) and captured most of the enemy controlled flags. The approach worked at first, but then the =SFX= clan started to attack quite a lot.
The "real war (RW)" match ended a draw.

The entire two-three hour long match was a great fun for all players including the PTERODON team. There was a lot of atmosphere and a lot of secret paths in the multiplayer map, which certainly made the match even more fun to play than it was. We would also like to say that it was a big challenge for us to achieve the victory and draw of the rounds.

The upcoming =SFX= clan multiplayer map "Devils Bridge" has not been released yet, but visit the Strike Force =SFX= web site for more information and updates at http://www.sfx-vc-clan.net/.

We would like to thank the =SFX= clan for inviting us and playing a good match.
