Comment Summary for Jarek's Diary
Jarek Kolar recently published a new issue of his diary covering some dilemmas for Vietcong 2. Since then, registered forum members commented on his thoughts. The following is a summary of the community's reactions to Jarek's assumptions.
While there were varied reactions to the aiming feature, this subject proved to be the biggest concern of the community. Generally, people tended to dislike the change from the old system, and made several suggestions, such as moving aimed weapons forward in order to remove the blocked view, while others suggested continuing using the old Vietcong aiming system, as they did not mind the realistic facts of weapon aiming. One person suggested including alternative aiming preferences, which one would be able to select in the game options.
Nobody complained about the suggested object placements in Vietcong 2. The community's only requirements were to vary the obstacles, and to merge such into the environment of the game's levels.
The comments in terms of oil barrels were also varied. Even though most people liked the idea, they wished to limit such explosive items. Many registered forum members stated that explosives caused by such items ought to blend into the environment, which means that they disliked the fact to have oil barrels in the middle of the jungle. One person, however, stated that oil barrel placements in a jungle would be realistic, as vehicles use oil. Lastly, some people suggested having other types of explosives, such as C4.
The subject of uniforms was positive, as no one complained about such. The community only wished to have many uniforms, and that these should represent realistic colours and uniform types used during the Vietnam War.
The last subject covered in Jarek's diary was an implementation of vehicles. Many fans of Vietcong frightened this, as they feared the sequel would become a new Battlefield game. They suggested balancing the vehicles for both team sides in multiplayer, and would not mind if the Vietcong team obtained Russian vehicle models. Furthermore, fans wished to have destructible vehicles for cover.
