Brno - The Home of PTERODON

Over thousands of years ago, the human being populated a Slavic city located in the Czech Republic. With the creation of an ancient castle in the 11th century placed in the centre of this beautiful metropolis, the Bretislav castle accommodated a non-ruling prince called Premyslid. The castle gathered several Czech market villages around its premises, and established a starting point for the arrival of German, Flemish, and Walloon foreigners in the 13th century. Ever since then, the legendary tale of Brno has populated millions of visitors with its many adventuress quarters, churches, and prehistoric castles. This is the story of Brno, the home of PTERODON, and the second largest city in the Czech Republic. Welcome to a true fairy tale.
Brno has been the home of many prehistoric wars during the last few centuries. Brno has experienced battles spanning from regaining a Catholic environment in the mid-16th century to the Second World War, which fatally damaged the city interiors, and to the struggle of overcoming the communistic times. The citizens of Brno have lived through a long story and regeneration of the city. Brno is a true legend in the Czech history.
Accompanying approximately two million inhabitants, the city of Brno is situated in a vibrant countryside, surrounded by both inviting, historical, and modern towns, ancient buildings, timbered hills, and much more. The city represents the centre of the Moravian province, which is one of the historic lands of the Czech Crown.
While Brno's rival city, Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic, is known for its excellent potential for tourism, Brno features a beautifully set landscape with kind inhabitants. Compared to capitals such as Copenhagen in Denmark, it is a city with much more curvy streets, which, in many ways, resembles to San Francisco in America. The most striking and beautiful aspects of the city are without a doubt its beautiful historic environments, which visually tend to gather a warm feeling for visitors. Many state that it truly feels like a place that you would have your home in.
What distinguishes Brno from other major cities is its public tidiness. Public parks, which are usually recognized with seamless paintings on walls, are completely free from vandalism and yet open to the public. There are many examples of open areas, in which the city is held clean; mostly in areas where prehistoric statues were build. Walking through a park around an ancient castle with clean benches and streetlights was somewhat unusual compared to living in a capital city.
The inner city consists of trams, restaurants, hotels, memorial statues, and much more. A famous dragon is also present, representing a well-known story among people living in the city. The dragon of Brno is still a mystery, as no person has ever been presented to the true story of the existence of this creature. It now hangs close to the city hall for people to watch.
At one point, we at the PTERODON team spent an evening in a small village located in Brno. Being on the taller part of the city, we were enjoying a beautiful view with strong lights set throughout each building in the central part of the city and only covered by other mountains that sealed off the perimeters. Having the possibility to look at two views at the same time, with one side covering the small town and the other side covering the central part of the city was breathtaking. In terms of building structures and the general setting, these two views were in great contradiction to each other.
Brno is a wonderful and vibrant city, which is definitely worth visiting. Its unique historic background is one of the many aspects that make it stand out among other cities and countries alike. With beautiful sceneries throughout all seasons of the year, it will be a long-lasting memory to travel there. The creators of Vietcong sincerely welcome you all.

Several people have committed suicide from these heights to the left.
Afterwards, they ended up in the nearby church.
